Romans 13:1 ERV

All of you must obey the government rulers. Everyone who rules was given the power to rule by God. And all those who rule now were given that power by God.

In the old days before Jesus was sacrificed for our chance to earn God's grace, mercy and forgiveness, since Jesus purpose was to come on earth to restore the relationship we had lost with God due to Adam and Eve's disobedience, the Roman Empire ruled on Jesus followers.

Meanwhile,they awaited the promise of a Messiah whom would deliver them from all the turmoil they endured at the hands of the Romans.


From power trips, to taxes and slavery, the Followers of Jesus didn't have power , and felt helpless.

When the Messiah(Jesus) came, he thought them revolutionary concepts, one of them was submission to authority.

See they expected freedom to be in a way where the Romans would suffer and perish, they expected vengeance as mean of Victory but Jesus instead thought them that by submitting to Them they honored God as no matter how harsh authority was, God had approved such authority and the sovereignty of God wasn't to be questionned nor was God obliged to justify why he had allowed the Romans to rule over them.

My point is simple, God is good and merciful, but before all he is God and owes us no explanation, therefore we are to learn to respect authority, whether at work, at home, in politics, in the Government ect....

Submission to them is a way to show God our respect and respect leads to blessing.
